Ambitions

Lately I've been thinking about the many things I've "dabeled" in over the years. There was piano and guitar lessons, riding lessons, sewing, scrapbooking, direct sales (AHA) and learning a second language, to name a few. Yet, at this point in time, I cannot play any musical instrument, riding lessons are too expensive, my sewing maching has dust on it, scrapbooking overwhelms me and no direct sales. I am still working on a second language, thought it is one I've never tried before.
So, I have made a list of current interests. Photography, french, jewlery, sewing and riding. Though riding would be my first choice by far it is not affordable at this time. Photography seems promising. I'm hoping (with good reason) for a digital SLR camera for my birthday in Nov. and there seem to be a lot of free or cheap learning opportunities at the entry level. French was certainly not my first choice for a second language (that would be Arabic) but with Liss and Dave come free lessons. Since I've been working with Liss the more I learn the more I enjoy it!
I'm torn between jewlery and sewing. Right now jewlery wins, seeing how I have a lot of supplies and Christmas is coming. Maybe in the new year I dust off the sewing machine.
And...I may not be learning to play an instrument right now but I have started taking voice lessons with my father-in-law. Maybe I'll be able to carry a tune on my own by the time we're done!
Well, these are my ambitions for the coming months and year (as of right now). I just want to become proficient in at least one thing before another 10 years has passed me by!
