Several weeks ago I noticed on my desk calendar at work that April 22 was Admin. Professionals Day in the U.S. and Canada. However, I quickly forgot about it as the days passed and took no notice of it this morning when reviewing my calendar.
So, when I returned from my lunch break for an afternoon of toil I was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful rose and gift bag sitting on my desk! At that moment it dawned on me, today was MY SPECIAL DAY! (shared with thousands of others:)
The rose was from one of our agents and the bag of gifts from my manager. When reading the cards, smelling the rose, and looking through my gifts I felt so...needed, valued. I think at that moment I could have been approached by ten agents who wanted assistance right away and I would have calmly, happily said, "Sure, no problem". I had a fresh desire to go about my work and give my very best.
Isn't it nice to be appreciated?
